Today saw the commemoration of sixty years since the end of the Second World War. At the end of the festivities, one million poppies were released over The Mall in London from a Lancaster Bomber overhead.

I wish I had been there – it looks beautiful.

Great pictures and it looks like it was a beautiful day for such a thing. My dad is a WW2 vet, they may indeed have been the “greatest generation.”

I have a great deal of respect for WWII veterans.

I think that all the people who fought in that war, allied and axis, would have liked to see that Lancaster drop the poppies. As opposed to bombs.
